Overtime Premium Checker: Compare Code TT With Your Own Pay Stub Math
Box 12 of your 2026 W-2 may show code TT: the overtime premium your employer reported. This checker works out the premium from your own regular rate and overtime hours, and states the difference between the two figures. It compares numbers only. It cannot say which figure is right, and a difference, by itself, says nothing about how either figure was produced.

Why the reported figure matters in 2026
For 2026, the IRS states in Fact Sheet FS-2026-13 that the overtime deduction is generally limited to the amount the employer separately reported, which is the code TT amount. The same fact sheet describes one correction route: a corrected W-2, Form W-2c, issued by the employer. Those are the published rules. What they mean for any one W-2 depends on that employer's payroll records, which this page cannot see.
To turn the reported premium into an estimated deduction, with the $12,500 limit and the phaseout applied, use the overtime deduction calculator. To read code TT and the other W-2 codes, use the W-2 decoder.
