PlainStub tax forms, in plain words

Privacy Policy for PlainStub

Effective date: November 4, 2026

The short version: the calculators on this site run in your browser. The figures you type are not sent to us, are not stored by us, and are not shared with anyone. This site has no user accounts, runs no advertising network, and uses no analytics or tracking cookies at this time. If that changes, this policy will be updated and dated before the change takes effect.

What the calculators collect: nothing. All calculation happens on your device. Your figures never appear in a web address, are never transmitted to our servers, and cannot be recovered by us after you leave the page, because we never receive them.

What is collected automatically: like every website, our hosting and content delivery providers record standard server logs when a page is requested. A log entry contains the internet protocol address of the request, the browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. Server logs are kept for 30 days and are used only to operate the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose faults. Log entries are not combined with calculator figures, which we do not have.

Cookies: this site sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies. A cookie may be set by our hosting provider where it is strictly necessary for security or load balancing. You can block cookies in your browser and every calculator will still work.

Email: this site does not currently collect email addresses and has no mailing list and no contact form. The contact address published on this site is for correspondence you choose to send. If you write to us, we receive the address and contents of your message and use them only to reply and to handle any correction or privacy request you raise.

What we share: we do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information. We do not share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or tax preparation companies. Outbound links on this site lead to other websites, including IRS pages and, on some pages, companies whose products are mentioned. Those websites have their own privacy policies. This site sends no information about you to them when you click; our links are configured so that the page address you came from is not passed on.

Your choices and requests: you may ask what information, if any, we hold about you, and you may ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Send requests to the designated request address below. We respond to requests about server log information and correspondence within 60 days. This site honours the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a request not to sell or share personal information, and since we do neither, no change to your experience is needed.

Nevada residents: PlainStub is operated from Nevada. The categories of covered information this site collects are internet protocol addresses and browser information in server logs, and the contents of any message you send us. The categories of third parties with whom that information may be shared are our hosting and content delivery providers, for site operation only. You may review and request changes to covered information we hold about you by writing to the designated request address below, and we will describe what we hold and correct or delete it on request. Third parties do not collect covered information about your activity on this site for their own purposes, because this site runs no advertising or analytics services. The effective date of this notice is the date at the top of this policy, and any change to it will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Children: this site is written for adults dealing with their own taxes. It is not directed to children, it has no accounts, and it asks no questions about any child through any tool on the site.

Security: server logs and correspondence are held with access limited to the site operator, protected by unique passwords and multi-factor authentication. Because the site collects no tax figures, no account credentials, and no payment information, there is no database of that kind to protect or to lose.

Designated request address for privacy requests, including Nevada requests not to sell covered information (we do not sell it): contact@plainstub.com.

Changes: material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date before they take effect.
